What is Hacktoberfest?

Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open source software run by DigitalOcean in partnership with GitHub and Twilio. Hacktoberfest is open to everyone in our global community! Five quality pull requests must be submitted to public GitHub repositories. You can sign up anytime between October 1 and October 31.


How can a beginner participate?

Follow these 6 simple steps-
  1. Register or login to github.com
  2. Register to Hacktoberfest.
  3. Contribute to any five repositories you like, check instructions to contribute in each repositories.
  4. Check your progress on the Hacktoberfest website.
  5. Digital ocean will ask you shipping address for t-shirt via email.
  6. Wait for that awesome Hacktoberfest t-shirt from Github & Digital Ocean.
